Terms and Conditions for Guests
1. Booking and Payment
Booking Confirmation: A £500 non-refundable deposit is required to secure the booking. This deposit is deducted from the final balance.
Final Balance: The remaining balance “final balance” is due 8 weeks prior to the start of the rental period.
Security Deposit: A £250 security deposit is payable upon booking. This deposit is refundable within 7 days of departure, subject to any deductions for damages or excessive cleaning.
2. Arrival and Departure
Check-in: Check-in time is 4pm on the day of arrival.
Check-out: Check-out time is 10am on the day of departure.
Early Arrival/Late Departure: Please book an additional night to enjoy early arrival or late departure.
3. Accommodation
Gite Address: 2 Route des Vignes, Clerac, France 17270
Description: 4 bedroom gite with private hot tub and private swimming pool.
Inventory: Guests are responsible for reporting any inventory discrepancies upon arrival.
4. Guest Conduct
Purpose of stay: We have a very strict policy on the use of the gite, which is for quiet enjoyment of the area, either for a holiday or for relaxation before and after a wedding. Guests who are not named on the booking are not permitted at the property, or to use the pool or facilities.
Additional Guests: Names and ages of all additional guests to be supplied when the final balance is due.
Respect for Property: Guests are expected to treat the property and its contents with care and respect.
Amenities: We equip the house with various amenities for the convenience of all guests. Please leave anything you don’t use for the next guests, or replenish if needed.
Noise Levels: Excessive noise is not permitted; the gite is in a peaceful residential village.
Smoking: Smoking is prohibited within the gite. Please dispose of any butts in the firepit.
Fires: There is an outdoor built-in BBQ and firepit. Both should be used with care, with any flames kept under control. Clerac is within a forestry region and anything classed as an open fire is prohibited from March to October.
Pool and Hot tub: Please use with care, following all manufacturers instructions. Shower before use, do not consume food or alcohol while using the pool or hot tub. Keep glass and bottle tops away from the pool and hot tub. The chemical balance should be checked and adjusted regularly using the test kits and chemicals supplied.
Pets: Pets are permitted in downstairs rooms if pre-booked. Pets are not permitted on indoor or outdoor furniture, or in the pool or jacuzzi.
Liability: Guests are responsible for any damage or breakages caused by themselves, their guests or their pets.
5. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation by Guest:
More than 8 weeks prior to arrival: The final balance will be refunded.
Between 8 and 4 weeks prior to arrival: 50% of the final balance will be refunded.
Less than 4 weeks prior to arrival: No refund will be given, other than the security deposit.
Cancellation by Host: In the highly unlikely event of a cancellation by the host, all payments made by the guest will be refunded in full.
6. Security Deposit
Refunds: The security deposit will be refunded to you in full within 7 days, subject to any deductions for damages or excessive cleaning.
Damages: Damages is defined as damage or breakages in excess of normal wear and tear, or inventory that is disposed of or removed from the property. Please ensure guests are familiar with the guidance provided, and use care at all times.
Excessive cleaning: In line with all rental properties in France, the expectation is that guests will leave the property as they found it. Please empty the fridge, dishwasher and bins before you leave and replace any furniture that you have moved.
Pool and hot tub: Please ensure that the pool and hot tub are used correctly.
Linen: Linen will be supplied for all guests. Used linen should be left in the laundry room. If you have used additional linen or towels, please ensure it is washed, dried and returned before you check out.
6. Disclaimer
Liability: The host accepts no liability for any personal injury, loss, or damage to property belonging to guests, their vehicles, or any other possessions, or for any part of the property or facilities being unavailable for use during all or part of the booking.
7. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England.
